Host Your Own Fundraising Event

How can I help children who are deaf?

It really is very simple. You can host your own fundraiser or get your friends and family to join you to help raise money for the Cora Barclay Centre

Where do I start?

Ring or email the Development Team at the Cora Barclay Centre on 08 8267 92 00 and they will register your event and provide you with support information and materials.

Then simply head to the Everyday Hero website. You are then well on your way to starting your own online fundraising page. Just follow the steps.

Fundraising Event Ideas

Host a morning tea or high tea

Everyone loves a cuppa and sweet treat, so get together with friends and ask them to make a donation to a great cause.

LOUD lunch

Hold a lunch fundraiser and theme it LOUD. You could ask your guests to bring along food that is LOUD- brightly coloured, big flavours, put on a bbq or head out to your local café and ask everyone who attends for a donation to a great cause.

Music event

Have a rock 'n' roll night or back to the 80’s and ask guests to donate the dollars they would normally spend on a night out at a club to the Cora Barclay Centre

Enter a Physical Challenge

Always wanted to run a marathon but never been brave enough? Fascinated by those mud runs or mountain climbs that everyone seems to be taking part in? Raising money for a great cause is the best motivation. Get a team of your friends, family and colleagues involved and start training! Create your own fundraising page to help get started with your donations.

Car boot or garage sale

Get everyone to donate their unwanted items, everything from clothes to furniture, then publicise it in your local paper and sell all the items to raise money for the Centre. Everyone loves a bargain and one person’s trash could be another’s treasure.

Jump on board another event

You could organise a fundraiser around an event that is already happening. This could be a special occasion like your birthday and rather than presents you could ask guests to donate to the Cora Barclay Centre.

Any budding chefs in your mix? Get everyone together and set out the rules for a bake-off. Everyone pays an entry fee and the winner is really everyone as they get to eat the treats cooked!

Movie night

Invite all of your friends over for a movie night. This could be some DVDs and snacks or you could see if your local cinema is screening. Get all of your friends to make a donation to the Cora Barclay Centre and enjoy a night with your friends.

Pizza Night

Have a pizza making night with the most innovative and delicious pizza topping.
