What does the NDIS fund?
The National Disability Insurance Scheme is the new way of providing individualised support for eligible people with permanent and significant disability, their families and carers.
The NDIS will deliver a life-long approach to support people with disability through individualised planning processes to identify the reasonable and necessary supports participants need to enable them to achieve their goals.
The NDIA works with families to develop individual plans for their child which sets out goals, aspirations; the disability supports (services and products) that will be funded by the NDIS, and other supports the child requires.
If deemed reasonable and necessary, the NDIS will fund therapeutic supports for your child such as allied health services and equipment support such as hearing aids and technical devices. The team at the Cora Barclay Centre can help you to determine what supports are appropriate for your child.
