Play based learning

The Cora Barclay Centre uses specialised Auditory-Verbal Therapy (AVT) to teach children who are deaf or hearing impaired to listen and speak.

In AVT the child, parent and therapist work together to develop play based activities that allow the child to use their hearing technology (hearing aids, cochlear implants etc) to develop listening skills, acquire language and develop vocabulary and speech in line with other children their age.

Below you can watch Jeremy's progression with AVT from birth to 3 years.
